Work Experience
Account/Sales Manager
April 2018 - Present
Working at TurnCommerce has been a uniquely enriching experience, unlike any company I've worked for before. My role requires proficiency across multiple platforms as I support three distinct brands: HugeDomains.com, NameBright.com, and DropCatch.com. While all three are rooted in the domain name industry, each serves a different purpose and audience—demanding a tailored approach and a diverse skill set when assisting customers.
TurnCommerce is building a comprehensive ecosystem around domain acquisition, management, and auctions. We focus not only on servicing established domain resellers but also on creating a welcoming space for individuals and small businesses who are new to the world of domains and want to establish their online presence.
LEAD SALES CONSULTANT, SPRINT
MARCH 2014 - 2018
First and foremost, I am highly customer service oriented. In my role, given the nature of my company, it’s essential to not only meet but exceed customer expectations. I focus on selling products and services that genuinely make my customers' lives easier. By building trust quickly and providing expert service, I foster long-term relationships, resulting in repeat business and valuable referrals.
ACTING MOBILE MANAGER, BEST BUY
APRIL 2007-MARCH 2014
As the Acting Mobile Manager, I was responsible for overseeing five distinct departments focused on cellular and portable technology. In this role, I managed a team of 12 full-time and part-time employees, ensuring they were well-versed in both sales and customer service. I set clear, measurable goals for each team member, driving them to exceed sales targets year over year. Through ongoing coaching, performance tracking, and goal-setting, I fostered a high-performance environment that consistently met and surpassed expectations. My leadership ensured that all departments were aligned and operated efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the business.
HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, MOUNTAIN 1 HELICOPTERS
MAY 2009 - MAYÂ 2011
As a Flight Instructor, I was responsible for educating new students interested in the art of helicopter flight. The instruction process was primarily divided into two major components: Ground Instruction and Flight Instruction.
Ground Instruction served as the foundational aspect of the training, where we would discuss the goals to be achieved during the flight portion, assess risks, review weather patterns, explore the physics of helicopter flight, and create detailed flight plans. These elements are critical in ensuring that students have the knowledge needed to make informed decisions during their flights.
Flight Instruction is the hands-on portion where students develop the necessary motor functions and reflexes to safely operate the helicopter. It provides students with a direct visual understanding of how weather predictions, discussed during ground lessons, manifest in real-time flight scenarios. This experience helps them understand how quickly conditions can change and how to respond accordingly.
After each flight, we would conduct a brief review session to evaluate the student’s performance. This allows both the student and myself to assess their progress, celebrate areas of strength, and address any aspects requiring further attention. This continuous feedback loop plays a key role in fostering student development.
The overall goal is to prepare students for their initial checkride, with the expectation of reaching proficiency within 40 hours of flight time, complemented by a similar amount of ground study. Many students choose to continue their training to pursue careers as commercial pilots or even as flight instructors themselves.
SERGEANT, U.S. ARMY
AUGUST 1998 - AUGUST 2006
As a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, I had the honor of being deployed four times to various locations in Afghanistan with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), a Joint Task Force comprising all branches of the U.S. military. I served as a Team Leader, responsible for the maintenance and readiness of 18 MH-47 Chinook helicopters, which played a crucial role in deploying elite forces—such as Navy SEALs, Special Forces, and Army Rangers—on high-risk night operations during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
My primary responsibility was managing a team of nine soldiers in the Phase Maintenance process of each helicopter, which occurs every 300 flight hours. This involved overseeing the disassembly of aircraft, conducting thorough inspections of the fuselage and key components, and coordinating the breakdown of larger components with four specialized maintenance shops. This complex process had to be completed within 60 days to ensure each aircraft remained mission-ready.
Additionally, I was responsible for the training and development of new soldiers, conducting daily equipment inspections to ensure operational readiness, and running physical training exercises to maintain peak physical fitness for my squad.
